Rolls-Royce Achieves Record Sales, Greater China Remains the No.2 Market

1月 23, 2024

On January 8th, Rolls-Royce, the British luxury car manufacturer under the BMW Group, announced that it had set a new sales record in 2023: The sales volume broke the 2022 record of 6,021 units, delivering a total of 6,032 cars to customers in over 50 countries worldwide, surpassing any year in the brand’s 119-year history.

Notably, the United States was Rolls-Royce’s largest single market in 2023, while the Greater China region continued to hold its position as the second largest global market for Rolls-Royce.

Record delivery volumes were also achieved in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions: the UK was the largest single market in Europe; with the support of the Dubai private office, the Middle East maintained its status as a primary source of highly refined and technically demanding bespoke commissions.

Rolls-Royce stated that the global sales of 6,032 cars met internal expectations and aligned with Rolls-Royce’s status as an international luxury automotive brand, rather than a volume-driven car manufacturer. Apart from strong sales and demand in the global market, the value and number of bespoke commission orders reached record levels. Additionally, Rolls-Royce applied for several new patents this year to achieve the technological innovations needed for specific projects.

Chris Brownridge, the CEO of the company, stated, “2023 was another extraordinary year for Rolls-Royce, with strong sales performances in all regions and across the full product portfolio. It’s especially encouraging to see the enormous interest in and demand for Spectre, supporting the decision to adopt a bold, ‘all-electric’ strategy for future model development and production. The record level of Bespoke commissions, both by volume and value, also underlines our position within the luxury sector, offering our clients opportunities for self-expression and personalisation they cannot find anywhere else.

“As incoming CEO, I’m in the extremely fortunate position of taking over responsibility for a business in robust good health, with strong foundations and a clear strategy for growth and development, formidable technical capabilities and a focused, dedicated team. I’m looking forward to working with the entire Rolls-Royce team to maintain this momentum and take this great company forward with confidence and conviction,” added Brownridge.

On December 1, 2023, Chris Brownridge, who previously served as the CEO of BMW UK, succeeded Torsten Müller-Ötvös, who retired after 14 years of service, as the CEO of Rolls-Royce.
