Personnel Updates | Porsche China Appoints New CEO; Allbirds’ New VP of Design from Salomon; Executive Appointments at Castore and Veja

Porsche China

German luxury sports car manufacturer Porsche AG has announced the appointment of Alexander Pollich as President and CEO of Porsche China Mainland, Hong Kong, and Macau, effective September 1st. Pollich will be based in Shanghai.

In his new role, Pollich will oversee sales in the critical Chinese market, focusing on tailoring and executing value-oriented, brand-aligned growth strategies, strengthening collaboration with local dealer partners, and further optimizing internal processes and structures.

Pollich has been with Porsche for 23 years, holding various management positions. Since 2018, he has served as Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche Germany.

A seasoned sales expert, Pollich has successfully expanded Porsche’s business in Canada and the UK, serving as CEO in both markets. Prior to that, he worked in Porsche’s strategy department, helping establish the company’s global sales network.

Pollich will succeed Michael Kirsch, who will be reassigned to other roles within the group, with specific appointments to be announced later. Meanwhile, Porsche Germany’s CFO Karsten Sohns and COO Thomas Illner will temporarily take over Pollich’s responsibilities until a successor is appointed.

Allbirds

American innovative footwear brand Allbirds has appointed Jason Israel as Vice President of Design, reporting to Chief Design Officer Adrian Nyman, effective June 1st.

In his new role, Israel will work alongside newly appointed Head of Color and Materials Ailsa Cordon-Michell to further strengthen the brand’s product team, focusing on advocating and enhancing the brand’s design culture.

Israel holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Fine Arts from San Diego State University. He previously served as Global Creative Director for French outdoor sports brand Salomon. Before that, he was Global Design Director at Specialized Bicycle Components and Global Creative Director of Equipment at The North Face. Early in his career, he worked as a designer for apparel, gloves, and bags at K2 Sports.

Castore

British premium sportswear brand Castore has appointed Peter Alecock as Chief Commercial Officer, a newly created position.

In his new role, Alecock will oversee the brand’s retail, wholesale, and e-commerce channels, as well as the brand’s mainline division.

Before joining Castore, Alecock was most recently the CEO of British fashion and homeware brand Joe Browns. Prior to that, he worked at JD Sports Fashion for 16 years, holding several leadership positions, including COO and Commercial Director for Fashion.

Veja

French sneaker brand Veja has appointed Anthony Bunn as Sales Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Bunn will succeed Artaud Frenoy, who will become the Sales Director for the Asia-Pacific region.

Before joining the brand, Bunn worked for many years at the Royer Group and VF Corp. He began his career in 1994 as a Sales Manager at Timberland. He later worked at Italian food group Ferrero, optical brand L’Amy Group, and joined Quiksilver in 2003 as Sales Director for Europe and the Middle East.

In 2009, Bunn joined VF Group, where he served as Director for Timberland France, Spain, and Portugal for eight years. In 2017, he joined French footwear company Royer as General Manager for the teen fashion and retail division. Since 2020, he has been serving as an independent consultant for SMEs.
