French luxury goods giant LVMH Group has recently announced several executive appointments involving its Wines & Spirits division, Moët Hennessy, as well as the group’s Finance and Human Resources departments:
- Jean-Jacques Guiony (pictured left), Chief Financial Officer of LVMH, has been appointed Chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy, effective February 1, 2025.
- Alexandre Arnault (pictured center), the second son of LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault, has been named Deputy CEO of Moët Hennessy.
- Charles Delapalme (pictured right), Managing Director of Christian Dior Couture, has been appointed President and CEO of Hennessy.
Jean-Jacques Guiony will succeed Philippe Schaus, who is leaving to pursue new opportunities after more than 21 years at LVMH. During his tenure, Schaus held several positions, including leading the group’s travel retail subsidiary DFS and working with Louis Vuitton, before becoming Chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy.
Alexandre Arnault previously served as Co-CEO of German luxury luggage brand RIMOWA following LVMH’s acquisition of an 80% stake in the brand in 2016. In 2021, after LVMH acquired U.S. luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co., Alexandre became Executive Vice President responsible for communications. In April of this year, he officially joined the LVMH Board of Directors.
Charles Delapalme will replace Laurent Boillot, who is set to take on a new role while staying temporarily for a smooth transition.
Additionally:
- Cécile Cabanis, who joined LVMH this summer as Deputy CFO, will succeed Jean-Jacques Guiony as LVMH’s Chief Financial Officer, effective February 1, 2025.
- Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH’s Human Resources Director, will be stepping down to pursue new opportunities and will be succeeded by Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, effective December 1.
Chantal Gaemperle, 62, has served LVMH for over 17 years and is a member of its Executive Committee, overseeing HR and collaboration efforts. Before joining LVMH in 2007, she worked at Nestlé as Head of Corporate Management Development and Procurement and at Merrill Lynch in Switzerland as Head of HR. She began her career at Philip Morris and graduated from the University of Lausanne.
Maud Alvarez-Pereyre, who has been with LVMH since 2004 in various HR roles, most recently served as Chief People & Transformation Officer since last year. She will also join the group’s Executive Committee.
Furthermore, Guillaume Motte, President and CEO of LVMH’s beauty retailer Sephora, will join the LVMH Executive Committee, effective January 1, 2025.
