Sephora

Effective February 12, Anca Marola will assume the role of Global Chief Digital Officer at Sephora, part of the LVMH Group, succeeding Marc Abergel, who has held the position since February 2022. She will work under the direct leadership of Sephora CEO Guillaume Motte.

Guillaume Motte stated in an internal communication that with Anca Marola’s previous experience as LVMH Group’s Chief Digital Officer, she will help strengthen Sephora’s internal digital community.

Anca Marola

Anca Marola began her career in 2012 at German market research company GFK, focusing on consulting and consumer research, and later worked at L’Oréal Group and Coca-Cola Group. She joined LVMH Group in June 2013, entering its digital department to support digital transformation across various brands. In 2014, her responsibilities expanded to include business intelligence and customer experience.

In October 2021, Anca Marola was appointed as LVMH Group’s Chief Digital Officer, where she focused on consolidating the group’s data strategy and conducting analyses across the value chain, from media and e-commerce to retail and supply chain, using artificial intelligence technologies.

M.A.C. Cosmetics

Recently, M.A.C. Cosmetics, a makeup brand under the Estée Lauder Group, announced that Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois, currently Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, has been promoted to Senior Vice President and General Manager, succeeding Philippe Pinatel, who will leave at the end of this month.

Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois has 20 years of experience in the beauty sector, holding senior positions at Revlon, Johnson & Johnson, and L’Oréal. Before joining M.A.C. in 2021, she led brands like Neutrogena, Aveeno, and The Body Shop.

A memo from Estée Lauder Group President Jane Hertzmark Hudis noted that Aïda Moudachirou-Rebois played a key role in the success of MAC Stack Mascara and Hyper Real Skincare. According to a report by beauty retailer Lookfantastic, MAC was the most searched beauty brand in 2023, ahead of Sol de Janeiro and Drunk Elephant, thanks to the launch of its first liquid foundation in over a decade, Studio Radiance Serum-Powered Foundation.

Biologique Recherche

On January 8, French luxury skincare brand Biologique Recherche appointed Jean-Guillaume Trottier as its new CEO, who will take office in May this year. Biologique Recherche’s co-owners and current Co-CEOs, Pierre-Louis Delapalme and Rupert Schmid, will continue as members of the executive board and remain “closely involved” in the brand.

Before joining Biologique Recherche, Jean-Guillaume Trottier worked for three years at L’Oréal Group and then 19 years at Estée Lauder Group. In 2016, he was appointed as Global President of Estée Lauder’s fragrance brand Jo Malone London and in 2019 as Global President of Parisian skincare brand Darphin, leaving in March 2023.

Biologique Recherche was founded in the late 1970s by biologist Yvan Allouche and physiotherapist Josette Allouche. Known for its pure, concentrated clinical skincare ingredients and innovative, meticulous clinical skincare programs and procedures, its most famous product is the P50 lotion. The brand has been led by Co-CEOs and co-owners Pierre-Louis Delapalme and Rupert Schmid for nearly 17 years.

Eighth Day

American high-tech luxury skincare brand Eighth Day has appointed beauty veteran Savannah Sachs as its new CEO, replacing founder Antony Nakhla, who will continue as Chairman of the Board. Savannah Sachs’s primary task in her new role is to build an executive team to support Eighth Day’s next chapter of retail expansion.

Savannah Sachs stated that Elevate’s investment provides the financial support needed for expansion, focusing on brand marketing and digitalization. She aims to build a complete, high-performance team for seamless collaboration to realize the brand’s vision.

Founded in 2018 by dermatologist Dr. Antony Nakhla, Eighth Day’s inspiration comes from the skin’s innate healing and regenerative abilities. Its formulas are based on patent-pending Peptide-Rich Plasma technology, composed of 24 bioidentical peptides, growth factors, and amino acids. In September 2023, L Catterton, the world’s largest consumer-focused private equity firm, acquired a minority stake in Eighth Day through its early-stage beauty investment platform, Elevate Beauty, marking the brand’s first external funding since its inception.

Before accepting this appointment, Savannah Sachs served as CEO of beauty brand Tula for five years, resigning last July. Like Eighth Day, Tula also received financing from L Catterton. Retail expansion has been a key driver behind the investment for both brands.

Over the past two years, Eighth Day’s products have expanded in sales at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Olivela, Moda Operandi, and in international markets through collaborations with retailers like Niche Beauty in Germany, Harrods in London, and Melanie Grant in Australia. Recently, Eighth Day also established a retail partnership with luxury e-commerce site Net-A-Porter.
