Personnel Updates | Arc’teryx Appoints Chief Brand Officer and Head of EMEA; Black Diamond Names Former Alpine Guide as New European General Manager

Canadian premium outdoor brand Arc’teryx Equipment, under Amer Sports, has announced the following senior executive appointments:

  • Avery Baker has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Brand Officer;

  • Tobia Prevedello has been named Head of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market.

In her new role, Avery Baker will report to Arc’teryx President and Chief Executive Officer Stuart Haselden. She will have overall responsibility for global brand strategy, marketing, and brand communications, and will lead the formation of the consumer experience team. Working closely with global and regional leadership teams, she will drive the execution of Arc’teryx’s brand vision across its ski, hiking, and climbing product lines. She plans to relocate to Vancouver in the summer of 2027.

Prior to joining Arc’teryx, Avery Baker served as President and Chief Brand Officer of Tommy Hilfiger. During her tenure, she led the relaunch of the brand’s global women’s business and developed a “see now, buy now” runway content e-commerce platform. She spent 24 years at Tommy Hilfiger before departing in 2023. She has also founded her own consulting firm.

Tobia Prevedello brings extensive experience in leading complex regional operating structures for internationally renowned luxury brands, as well as a deep understanding of the diverse consumer demands and market landscape across EMEA. Most recently, he served as Regional Managing Director, EMEA, at Celine, part of the LVMH Group, where he was fully responsible for regional commercial strategy, operational management, and business growth. Prior to this, he held management positions at Gucci, Bottega Veneta, DFS, and Miu Miu.

Black Diamond

US outdoor brand Black Diamond has appointed Jonathan Hilborn as General Manager for Europe.

In his new role, Jonathan Hilborn will develop a growth roadmap centered on the brand’s core heritage categories, covering climbing, ski touring, trail running, and hiking. On the distribution side, he will be responsible for strengthening partnerships with wholesale accounts while also leading the development of the direct-to-consumer (DTC) channel.

Jonathan Hilborn has been with the company for 11 years and previously served as Sales Director for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) market. His career spans multiple areas, from product development to go-to-market strategy. In addition, his professional background as an alpine guide brings unique expertise and perspective to the brand.
