Chanel
The French luxury brand Chanel has recently announced two personnel changes:
- Fabrice Raoul has been appointed Chief Financial Officer for the European market and CEO of the French company.
- Mehdi Hamala has been appointed Director of Business Partnerships.
Fabrice Raoul was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Chanel’s beauty division. In his new position, he will replace the retiring Luc Dony and report to Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel’s Fashion and Métiers d’Art division and President of the French company.
Additionally, Fabrice Raoul will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for the group’s finance team based in France. His career began in financial control within the industrial sector of multinational companies, before moving to Bourjois, a beauty company then owned by Chanel, as CFO. In 2012, he joined Chanel’s Perfume and Beauty division, becoming CFO two years later. *Note: Bourjois was sold to Coty Inc. in 2014.*
Mehdi Hamala joined Chanel in 2019 and has been a key figure in the company’s digital transformation. He was promoted to Omnichannel Digital Director, leading the brand’s omnichannel strategy.
In his new role, Mehdi Hamala will be responsible for implementing strategies, strengthening business partnerships, and supporting the overall development of the brand.
With a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Paris-Sorbonne and a degree in International Marketing from ESCEM, Mehdi Hamala began his career at La Banque Postale, and has held management positions at BNP Paribas, AXA Group, and MGEN.
Max Mara
The Italian fashion luxury group Max Mara has appointed Alice Gaini as Global Manager of Public Relations and Events. She will oversee global PR for the group’s brands, including Max Mara, Sportmax, Weekend Max Mara, and Max&Co.
Previously, Alice Gaini was the PR Manager for Max Mara in the Italian, European, and American markets. In her new role, she will directly manage the Italian team, while PR managers for the Asia-Pacific, European, and American markets will report to her.
Additionally, Simona Migliorati, the current PR Manager for the Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Middle East markets, will become the PR Manager for the Asia-Pacific and Licensing Markets, responsible for global communication for projects developed with the group’s brand licensees.
Moët Hennessy
Moët Hennessy has appointed Maryse Malicet as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the company’s Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2024.
In her new role, Maryse Malicet will be responsible for procurement and supply chain in addition to her CFO duties. She will also play a key role in financial management across the company’s brands and regional markets, and will lead major cross-functional projects. She will report to Philippe Schaus, Chairman and CEO of Moët Hennessy.
Maryse Malicet has over 25 years of experience in finance and management. Since 2019, she has served as CFO of Moët Hennessy Champagne and previously as CFO for Moët Hennessy Europe, playing a crucial role in consolidating the local market.
L Catterton
LVMH Group’s L Catterton, the world’s largest consumer-focused private equity firm, has appointed Devon Leahy as Global Head of Sustainability.
In her new role, Devon Leahy will support L Catterton’s portfolio companies with various sustainability-focused initiatives and value creation measures.
Devon Leahy holds an MBA and a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy from Colby College. Before joining L Catterton, she was the Global Head of Sustainability at Ralph Lauren, and has held senior strategy and sustainability roles at Etsy and Walmart.
“Since the company was founded 35 years ago, sustainability has played a key role in our business,” said Scott Dahnke, L Catterton’s Global Co-CEO. “With our continued investment in resources and capabilities to support both our company and the mission-driven brands we partner with, Devon’s expertise will be invaluable in helping our team create, unlock, and capture more value.”
