Prada
The Italian luxury conglomerate Prada has announced the appointment of Christopher Bugg as Chief Communication Officer, effective immediately.
In his new role, Bugg will oversee global communications strategy for the Group and its brands, which currently include Prada, Miu Miu, Church’s, and Car Shoe. He will report directly to Lorenzo Bertelli, the Group’s Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility.
Christopher Bugg joined Prada Group in 2020 as Marketing and Communications Director for the Asia region and was promoted to Group Communications Director a few months later.
Prior to joining Prada Group, he served as Global Director of Digital Communications at French luxury house Louis Vuitton. Before that, he spent eight years at American designer brand Calvin Klein, where he held roles including Vice President of Global Digital Marketing and Account Manager for Advertising. Bugg holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Evansville (USA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Cape Town (South Africa).
Valentino
On August 14, Italian luxury brand Valentino issued a brief announcement stating that its Chief Executive Officer, Jacopo Venturini, has decided to take a break for personal reasons. As of August 13, his employment with the brand has ended, and he has stepped down from the Board of Directors.
Valentino is currently in search of a new Chief Executive Officer.
Rumors of Venturini’s departure began circulating in June. In July, the brand denied these reports, stating, “He is currently on medical leave, and it is unclear when he will return.”
Jacopo Venturini was appointed to his role in 2020. Before that, he served as Executive Vice President in charge of Marketing and Global Markets at Gucci, a brand under the Kering Group. He also previously worked at Valentino during two separate periods — first from 2000 to 2004 as Brand Manager for both womenswear and menswear, and again in 2008 as Ready-to-Wear Collection Director.
Between 2004 and 2008, he also spent three years at Prada.
