Dior Men’s Fall 2024 Show in Hong Kong

1月 12, 2024

Dior confirmed the official release date for its Early Fall 2024 Men’s Collection, designed by the brand’s Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones. The collection is set to debut on March 23, 2024, in Hong Kong, breaking the tradition of holding the early fall fashion show in December and will be available in stores from May. The exact location of the fashion show in Hong Kong has not been confirmed by Dior yet.

Late March is traditionally a busy time for fashion and trend events in China: the first ComplexCon Hong Kong, which is scheduled from March 22 to 24, coincides with the Dior show. This marks the first time that the global trend and culture festival ComplexCon is held outside North America. Meanwhile, Shanghai Fashion Week is set to open on March 25, and Art Basel Hong Kong will take place from March 28 to 30.

This event marks Dior’s return to Hong Kong for a fashion show, following their women’s haute couture show in 2014 and a men’s collection launch in 2016. Dior has been in the Hong Kong market since 1980 and currently has 11 boutiques there, six of which feature men’s collections.

It’s worth mentioning that another key brand of the LVMH Group, Louis Vuitton, held its Early Fall 2024 Men’s Collection show in Hong Kong K11 Musea on November 30, 2023, under the direction of Men’s Artistic Director Pharrell Williams.

Industry media comments suggest that with two major LVMH brands choosing to host fashion shows in Hong Kong, the city is gradually recovering from a previously challenging period and is becoming a favored fashion capital again. According to data released by the Hong Kong Government Statistics Department on January 4, retail sales in Hong Kong from January to November 2023 increased by 17.1% compared to the same period last year. A government spokesperson added that retail sales in November significantly increased with the recovery of inbound tourism.

Luxeplace.com conducted field research in Hong Kong at the end of October last year. Tong.Luxe.CO data also shows that from January 2022 to September 2023, 23 luxury brands opened 26 stores in Hong Kong. A common trait of these new stores is their larger size, more comprehensive product range, and high-standard flagship store features. These luxury brands are also trying to explore local Hong Kong culture to enhance the emotional value of their stores.
