Qatar’s Hotel Occupancy Rate Fell to 56% In November, but the World Cup Helped the “Average Room Rate” Hit a Record High

The 2022 Qatar World Cup was held from November 20 to December 18. Before the opening, it was assumed that the tournament would overcrowd Qatar’s hotels. “Supply and demand will be tight, but it will be managed,” Berthold Trenkel, chief operating officer of Qatar Tourism, told Hotelier Middle East in a previous interview.
