Adidas has announced that former U.S. professional women’s basketball player Candace Parker has been appointed as the President of the brand’s women’s basketball business, effective immediately.

The brand notes that Candace Parker’s addition represents a new peak in a partnership that has spanned 16 years. Both parties aim to further promote the development of women’s basketball and create a better environment for the next generation of basketball players.

In her new role, Candace Parker will oversee Adidas’ women’s basketball product line and collaborate with the brand to create a powerful platform aimed at influencing and advancing the future of women’s sports. She will set a clear and influential direction based on her deep understanding of the game and the needs of female athletes, particularly focusing on global accessibility, increasing representation, and breaking barriers.

Adidas has expressed full support for Candace Parker to drive innovative strategies and empowerment activities, inspiring the next generation to embrace bigger dreams and achieve higher goals under her guidance.

Candace Parker will play a key role in building the brand’s female lineup, which includes All-Star players like Aliyah Boston, Hailey Van Lith, Kahleah Copper, Aaliyah Edwards, Chelsea Gray, and Betnijah Laney.

GAP

GAP has appointed Fabiola Torres as the Global Chief Marketing Officer.

In her new role, Fabiola Torres is responsible for overseeing the brand’s marketing, creative, visual merchandising, store experience, and operations teams.

For the past four years, Fabiola Torres was the Chief Marketing Officer of PepsiCo’s functional beverages and Spain businesses. Prior to that, she served as the Global Vice President of Marketing for Apple’s Beats by Dre brand. She also had an 18-year tenure at Nike, including as the Global Director of Sneaker Culture.

Ecoalf

Ecoalf, the Spanish sustainable fashion brand, has appointed Manel Echevarria as General Manager.

Previously, Manel Echevarria was the CEO of Ananas Anman, the UK-based innovative materials company that owns Piñatex, a pineapple leaf fiber material. He took over the role in April, succeeding the brand’s founder, Javier Goyeneche, who remains as President.

Manel Echevarria has a rich career in the fashion and luxury goods industry, having served as the CEO of Lacoste Iberia from 2018 to 2020, later becoming an executive at the sporting goods distribution retailer Excens Sports Group. Before that, he held management positions at brands such as Swarovski and Montblanc.

Monnalisa Spa

Monnalisa Spa, the Italian children’s clothing brand, has announced Matteo Tugliani as the new CEO, succeeding Christian Simoni. Simultaneously, Sara Sisti, who has been with the company for six years, has been promoted to Manager of Investor Relations, a role she will continue to combine with that of Financial Management Manager.

Matteo Tugliani graduated from the University of Siena with a degree in Business Economics and Management and has also studied at University Carlos I in Madrid and Columbia University in New York.

After graduating, he entered the fashion industry, initially as a director at the multi-brand company ROSYMODA, and later founded the management consultancy FASHIONLINK in 2006, representing over 20 Italian brands. He is also the CEO and founder of the Florence-based boutique footwear brand Moaconcept.

In 2013, Matteo Tugliani purchased a minority stake in Monnalisa and joined its board of directors. He currently holds a 3.8% stake in the brand.
