On October 14, the parent company of Unifon, Chinese beauty conglomerate SYoung Group, announced in a recent investor relations activity report that it has acquired the U.S. luxury skincare brand RéVive from private equity fund Tengram Capital Partners. The transaction is expected to close in the next two weeks.
Founded in 1997 by plastic surgeon Dr. Gregory Bays Brown, RéVive offers eight product lines, with individual items priced around $300, and its most premium product reaching $2,000.
RéVive is already available in major U.S. luxury department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, and Bergdorf Goodman, as well as in Harrods in the UK. It has also entered high-end retail channels in the Chinese Mainland, including Beijing SKP, Xi’an SKP, and Hong Kong DFS. The brand’s global GMV is estimated to be between $70 million and $80 million, with over 70% of sales coming from the U.S. and Europe, and approximately 10% from the Chinese Mainland. SYoung Group sees significant growth potential for the brand in China.
Following the acquisition, the brand’s founder and original team will retain a minority stake and continue overseeing U.S. operations, while SYoung will focus on developing the brand’s business in China and enhancing its e-commerce presence in the U.S.
This acquisition brings SYoung’s portfolio of overseas luxury beauty brands to three, including the French luxury skincare brands EviDenS de Beauté, acquired in 2022, and PierAuge.
In terms of R&D, SYoung Group has teams and production capabilities across the U.S., France, Japan, and China.
In key global markets, the group has established sales networks and flagship stores in major cities across the UK, France, the U.S., Canada, and the Chinese Mainland. Out of the world’s top ten international cities, SYoung has brand stores and sales outlets in eight: New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Singapore, and Los Angeles.
SYoung Group stated that it has now positioned itself as an emerging global luxury beauty brand management group.
