Personnel Updates | CEO Appointments at Casablanca and Slowear; General Manager Named at Études Studio; Ganni CEO Departs

Casablanca Paris

Paris-based designer brand Casablanca Paris has appointed Didier Nguyen as Chief Executive Officer.

Following his appointment, Didier Nguyen will succeed Frédérik Lukoff, who will transition into the role of Special Advisor to the brand.

Didier Nguyen has long been deeply involved in both the luxury sector and independent designer brands. Over the past two years, he has provided brand positioning and growth strategy consulting services to a number of fashion and luxury companies.

He began his career in luxury in 2006 at LVMH旗下的 Givenchy, where he later took charge of the brand’s menswear business. In 2013, he joined Dior to oversee wholesale operations, before moving the following year to Kering旗下的 Saint Laurent, where he initially managed menswear wholesale in the U.S. market and was subsequently promoted to lead global menswear wholesale. In 2016, he joined designer brand Amiri as Executive Vice President in charge of business development.

Études Studio

French designer brand Études Studio has appointed Brice Groulier as General Manager.

In his new role, Brice Groulier will focus on advancing the brand’s future development strategy.

Brice Groulier began his career in financial control roles within the retail sector, transitioning into the fashion industry in 2017 when he joined Carven. In 2018, he became Chief Financial Officer of Lemaire, before joining Jacquemus in 2020 as CFO. He later took on responsibility for supply chain and technology, playing a central role in leading Jacquemus’s steady expansion and effectively addressing the organisational and financial challenges commonly faced by independent brands during growth phases.

Slowear

Italian premium casualwear group Slowear has appointed Alessandro Varisco as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Upon assuming the role, Alessandro Varisco will succeed Piero Braga. At the same time, he will join the company’s controlling shareholder, private equity fund Nuo Capital, as an Operating Partner.

Alessandro Varisco previously served as CEO of Twinset and Moschino. Over the course of his career, he has also held roles at Valentino, Versace, and Gianfranco Ferré. He joined Twinset in 2015 and departed at the end of last year, during which time he drove the brand’s international expansion, streamlined its product lines, expanded both directly operated and franchised retail networks, strengthened brand positioning, and scaled up its digital business platform.

Ganni

Danish fashion brand Ganni has announced the departure of its Chief Executive Officer, Laura du Rusquec.

Retail industry executive and former CEO of Tom Dixon, Hans Hoegstedt, has been appointed as interim leader.

Laura du Rusquec joined the brand in 2024, succeeding former CEO Andrea Baldo, who had held the role for more than five years. During her tenure, she drove consistent double-digit annual growth and built out a comprehensive offline retail network.

Prior to joining Ganni, Laura du Rusquec spent seven years at Kering’s Balenciaga, where she served as Deputy CEO before her departure. She also held senior management roles within Kering, and spent three and a half years at Italian jewellery brand Pomellato as Global Marketing and Merchandising Director. Earlier in her career, she worked in the strategy department at Gucci.
