L Catterton-backed French fashion brand A.P.C. (Atelier de Production et de Création) has appointed Pierre-Arnaud Grenade as its new president.

In his new role, Pierre-Arnaud Grenade will be responsible for expanding and enhancing the brand’s creative vitality, strengthening its financial structure, and providing new selective growth opportunities.

Pierre-Arnaud Grenade brings extensive brand management experience, having worked with brands such as Oxbow, Morgan, and Princesse Tam Tam. He is also a board member of the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear, as well as a founding partner of the investment fund Teampact Ventures.

This marks another collaboration between Pierre-Arnaud Grenade and L Catterton. During L Catterton’s 2015 investment in French fashion brand Ba&sh, Grenade served as the CEO and led the brand to achieve a sevenfold increase in sales over seven years, exceeding €320 million in revenue by 2022. The number of stores grew from 65 in Europe to 320 globally, with 65% of sales coming from international markets.

Helmut Lang

American designer Peter Do has stepped down as Creative Director of Helmut Lang, a high-end ready-to-wear brand under Japan’s Fast Retailing Group, parent company of Uniqlo.

Neither the reason for his departure nor a successor has been announced.

Helmut Lang’s Chairman, Kazumi Yanai, stated:
“Peter Do joined Helmut Lang in 2023, bringing a fresh perspective for a new generation and revitalizing the brand. He reinforced the brand’s reputation while respecting its minimalist roots and continuously pushing boundaries.”

Peter Do studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and was the first recipient of the 2014 LVMH Graduate Prize. After graduation, he worked in the ready-to-wear atelier of Celine (then under LVMH) and later for Derek Lam, an American designer of Chinese descent.

In 2018, Peter Do launched his eponymous label and continued to oversee his personal brand while serving as Creative Director at Helmut Lang.
