Personnel Updates | Bally CEO Resigns; Executive Leadership Changes at Estée Lauder North America

Recently, Nicolas Girotto, the CEO of Swiss luxury brand Bally, announced his resignation on his personal LinkedIn, stating that he is ready to embrace new challenges.

Nicolas Girotto remarked, “Leading this brand, renowned for its craftsmanship since its founding in 1851, has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. Together, we have achieved many successes over the past few years.” Girotto joined Bally in October 2015 and has served as the CEO since 2019.

According to the Swiss Italian-language media Corriere del Ticino, Italian Ennio Fontana will succeed Girotto as Bally’s CEO. Fontana has previously held important roles at brands like Dsquared2, Roberto Cavalli, and Philipp Plein. Bally currently employs around 400 people.

On August 15, Bally’s holding company Jab sold the brand to American private equity firm Regent.

Estée Lauder

On September 30, the Estée Lauder Companies announced that its North American Group President, Mark Loomis, will retire at the end of the 2025 fiscal year. Tara Simon will take over his role, reporting directly to Estée Lauder’s President and CEO, Fabrizio Freda. Amber English will become the President of North America, responsible for digital and online operations.

Both Tara Simon and Amber English will assume their new roles on January 1, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition.

Mark Loomis

Mark Loomis has worked for Estée Lauder for over 28 years. Fabrizio Freda stated, “Mark is a visionary leader who has brought many impactful changes to the company during his nearly 30 years of service. He has helped us integrate our brand portfolio and regional operations, inspiring creativity and excellence in many.” Freda expressed deep appreciation for Loomis’s contributions and commitment to the company, noting that Tara and Amber’s unique experiences and talents are precisely what the North American business needs for its next phase of development.

Tara Simon will focus on North America’s physical sales channels strategy, including multi-brand stores, department stores, and standalone stores. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Merchandising at beauty retailer Ulta Beauty, before joining Estée Lauder in 2020. She initially served as Senior Vice President and Global General Manager of Too Faced and later became Global Brand President of California Brands, managing brands such as Too Faced and Smashbox, driving innovation in product and consumer engagement. Her successor will be announced later.

Tara Simon

Amber English, who joined Estée Lauder in 2022 after working at e-commerce giant Amazon, will oversee the company’s digital transformation and multi-channel strategy in North America, and lead all e-commerce operations in the region. She played a pivotal role in launching Estée Lauder’s online store on U.S. Amazon Premium Beauty and has led the digital transformation across platforms like Brand.com, Retailer.com, and Amazon, enhancing the consumer experience.
