Burberry
British luxury brand Burberry has appointed Joshua Schulman as CEO and Executive Director, succeeding Jonathan Akeroyd, who has agreed with the board to step down and leave the company effective immediately.
Joshua Schulman will join Burberry on July 17 and will be based at the London headquarters. In his new role, he will lead the executive committee and report to the company’s Chairman, Gerry Murphy, and the board.
Burberry highlighted in a press release that Joshua Schulman’s extensive experience in the fashion and luxury industry is key to unlocking Burberry’s full potential. He will work with the brand’s Creative Director Daniel Lee and his team to drive global growth.
The 52-year-old American, a graduate of New York University, has served as CEO for several global luxury, fashion, and retail companies, bringing rich experience in driving transformational growth and creating value.
From 2021 to 2022, Joshua Schulman was the CEO of Michael Kors, a brand under Capri Holdings Ltd. Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, he served as CEO and President of another American affordable luxury brand, Coach. He has also held positions at Italian luxury brand Gucci, French luxury brand Yves Saint Laurent, American fashion brand Gap, and British luxury footwear brand Jimmy Choo. In 2012, he became President of American luxury department store Bergdorf Goodman, and in 2014, he was promoted to President of its parent company Neiman Marcus Group.
Mulberry
On July 9, British luxury leather goods brand Mulberry announced the appointment of 52-year-old Italian Andrea Baldo as CEO, succeeding Thierry Andretta, effective September 1. He will also join the Mulberry board.
Andrea Baldo, currently residing in the UK, brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the fashion industry. He served as CEO and Executive Director of Ganni from 2018 to 2024, where he drove international growth by focusing on retail network development, product innovation, and strengthening brand image to enhance customer engagement.
Before this, Andrea Baldo held positions at fashion brands Coccinelle SpA (2016-2018) and Marni Group Srl (2013-2016), where he redefined strategic priorities and ultimately increased sales and profitability. Additionally, he held leadership roles at Diesel, a brand under the Italian OTB Group, for over a decade, eventually becoming COO of its U.S. operations.
Canada Goose
High-end functional apparel brand Canada Goose has appointed Alfredo C. M. Tan as Chief Digital and Information Officer, succeeding Matt Blonder, effective August 7.
In his new role, Alfredo C. M. Tan will oversee the strategy, implementation, and application of all consumer-facing digital platforms, enhancing the brand’s digital capabilities. He will lead the team responsible for developing the company’s digital sales channels roadmap, as well as information technology, digital media and marketing, and consumer insights.
The company noted in a press release that Alfredo C. M. Tan and his team will also be responsible for the company’s future data and artificial intelligence strategy to improve business and corporate performance.
Before joining Canada Goose, Alfredo C. M. Tan was Senior Vice President and General Manager of the retail media division at Loblaw Companies. Prior to that, he held leadership roles at Meta Platforms, being among the first 1,000 employees globally and contributing to Meta’s transformation into a global media and technology leader.
Other positions he has held include Senior Vice President of Strategy, Data, and Digital Products at Rogers Sports & Media, and the first Chief Digital Officer and Chief Innovation Officer at WestJet Airlines.
