Personnel Updates | Executive Changes at Kering Beauty, L’Occitane, Marc-Antoine Barrois, and Other Beauty and Fragrance Companies

Kering Beauté

Kering Beauté recently appointed Alexandre Choueiri as the new President and CEO for the Americas.

Alexandre Choueiri brings over twenty years of experience from L’Oréal, most recently serving as the Global Brand President for Ralph Lauren Fragrances.

Choueiri’s career began in June 2000 at L’Oréal Italy, working with Lancôme and Helena Rubinstein. From 2006 to 2008, he served as General Manager for designer brands and Kiehl’s in Australia. Returning to Lancôme from 2008 to 2012, he managed L’Oréal’s UK and Ireland operations, driving brand growth and innovation. In 2012, he moved to L’Oréal USA’s Luxury Products Division, managing Armani Beauty, YSL Beauty, and designer fragrance brands, eventually becoming President of the IDC division.

Amidst a challenging luxury market, Kering has internalized many of its beauty brand licenses. Looking ahead, Kering plans to launch high-end fragrances for Bottega Veneta, followed by Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen in 2025.

L’Occitane Group

L’Occitane Group recently appointed Evelyne Ly-Wainer as the Managing Director of Global Travel Retail, effective immediately.

With over 20 years in senior management roles for premium and luxury brands, Ly-Wainer was previously the Chief Commercial Officer for Shiseido Travel Retail Asia Pacific for nearly eight years. She also served as General Manager for Kiehl’s and Biotherm, and Marketing Director for Lancôme under L’Oréal’s Luxury Products Division.

During her tenure, Ly-Wainer demonstrated exceptional leadership, with her strategic approach to sales, business, and marketing being highly praised. She effectively drove revenue growth and developed numerous business projects, consistently surpassing performance expectations and setting new standards of success in the industry.

Marc-Antoine Barrois

Luxury fragrance brand Marc-Antoine Barrois recently appointed Marie-Laure Dubuisson, former Brand Director of Byredo, as the new General Manager.

This marks a significant step for the eight-year-old Marc-Antoine Barrois in accelerating its development. The company announced plans for market expansion and aims to establish itself as a responsible brand mindful of its environmental impact. Recently, Marc-Antoine Barrois launched its sixth fragrance, Tilia, crafted by renowned perfumer Quentin Bisch.

Marie-Laure Dubuisson

Marie-Laure Dubuisson’s career began at Mercedes-Benz France in 1997, and she has extensive experience in the fragrance industry, including over 13 years at LVMH for Parfums Christian Dior and Make Up For Ever. She also held management positions at Jimmy Choo and Longchamp before joining Byredo in January 2023 after its acquisition by Puig.

Revlon

Revlon recently appointed Tchernavia Rocker as Chief Human Resources Officer, succeeding Ely Bar-Ness, who will depart next month.

Additionally, Rocker will provide advisory support in developing Revlon’s ethnic hair care portfolio. Her appointment became effective on June 3rd. In her new role, Rocker will report directly to CEO Elizabeth Smith.

Tchernavia Rocker

Rocker brings extensive leadership experience in human resources, organizational transformation, DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), corporate strategy, and sustainability. She most recently served as Chief People and Transformation Officer at Under Armour. Before that, she held HR leadership roles at Harley-Davidson for over 18 years and also worked in HR and operations at Goodyear Dunlop Tire North America.

Regarding the personnel change, Elizabeth Smith expressed gratitude to Bar-Ness for his significant contributions during Revlon’s most challenging times and welcomed Rocker, anticipating her leadership to drive the next phase of growth during this critical period of transformation.

Phlur

Phlur, a fragrance brand founded by social media influencer Chriselle Lim, recently appointed Elizabeth Ashmun as the new CEO.

Before joining Phlur, Ashmun was President of Moon Juice for six years. She also held senior marketing roles at Murad, Kate Sommerville, and Nestlé.

Additionally, Phlur appointed Linette Kim, formerly with Bliss and L’Oréal, as Chief Marketing Officer.

Founded in 2015 and based in the USA, Phlur is a modern luxury fragrance brand that creates “meticulously crafted, responsibly sourced, and artfully blended fragrances.” The brand draws inspiration from places, emotions, and shared memories, viewing perfume as an extension of personal style.

Regarding the recent personnel changes, Lim shared on her personal Instagram account, “Over the past two years, I’ve relaunched Phlur as its founder and creative director, telling stories and collaborating with some of the world’s most respected and sought-after perfumers—it’s been a dream come true. However, I didn’t anticipate Phlur’s rapid growth. The brand has scaled beyond my imagination. We’ve achieved so much, but there is still much to accomplish, and I have big plans for this brand.”

Lim also stated, “Many people have asked us to expand our business globally. That said, this is a monumental task, and I need help; I can’t do it alone. Therefore, I’m thrilled to share the next chapter of Phlur with you. I’m incredibly proud to welcome Elizabeth Ashmun and Linette Kim to the Phlur team.”
