Personnel Updates | New President for Shenzhou International; New CMO for Balmain; New CEO for Kate Spade

Shenzhou International

The board of directors of Shenzhou International Group Holdings Limited announced that Executive Director and General Manager, Huang Guanlin, will assume the role of President and be appointed as Co-CEO, effective August 1.

Huang Guanlin, who will continue as the company’s Executive Director, is mainly responsible for daily operations, including marketing and production. Graduating from Zhejiang University of Technology with a major in Chemical Industrial Management Engineering, the 59-year-old Huang Guanlin has over 36 years of experience in the textile industry. He joined Shenzhou in 1989, previously serving as Deputy General Manager, and since April 2005, has been the General Manager of Ningbo Shenzhou Knitting Co., Ltd. (Shenzhou Knitting), as well as a director or general manager of several key subsidiaries of Shenzhou International. Huang Guanlin is also the brother-in-law of Executive Director Ma Jianrong.

Executive Director Ma Renhe will also assume the role of President and Co-CEO, effective August 1.

In his new role, Ma Renhe will primarily focus on expanding Shenzhou International’s overseas business, enhancing production layout abroad, and strengthening the management of overseas factories. He will continue to serve as the company’s Executive Director.

Ma Renhe is responsible for Shenzhou Group’s dyeing and finishing affairs and administrative management, with over 47 years of experience in the textile industry. He joined Shenzhou in 1989, with more than 35 years of experience in dyeing and finishing. Since May 2002, he has been the Deputy General Manager of Shenzhou Knitting. Ma Renhe is also a director or general manager of several key subsidiaries of the company. He is the cousin of Executive Director Ma Jianrong (his father and Ma Jianrong’s father are brothers).

Balmain

French luxury brand Balmain has appointed Bruna Scognamiglio as Chief Marketing Officer, effective September 9.

In her new role, Bruna Scognamiglio will succeed the departing Txampi Diz and will oversee the brand’s global marketing strategy, image guidance, and communications to drive brand growth, reporting directly to CEO Matteo Sgarbossa.

With over 20 years of experience in traditional and digital marketing within the fashion and luxury sectors, Bruna Scognamiglio previously worked at Italian luxury brand Ferragamo, where she held various positions over five years, most recently as Global Brand and Marketing Director. She has also worked for Procter & Gamble, Coty, and Tod’s.

Kate Spade/Tapestry

American luxury group Tapestry, Inc. has appointed Eva Erdmann as President and CEO of its brand Kate Spade, and she will join the company’s executive committee, effective October.

In her new role, Eva Erdmann will succeed Liz Fraser, who is leaving in September, and will oversee all aspects of the business with a focus on accelerating innovation to drive consumer connections and sustainable global growth. She will report directly to Tapestry’s CEO Joanne Crevoiserat.

Eva Erdmann holds an engineering master’s degree from the National School of Geographical Sciences (ENSGI) in France and a marketing degree from HEC Paris. She has extensive experience in the beauty industry, beginning her career in the luxury products division of L’Oréal Group in 2005. She has held positions in Dior Perfumes and Cosmetics’ Hong Kong marketing department and international marketing department and rejoined L’Oréal Group in 2013.

Over the past decade, she has held management roles in several L’Oréal brands, most recently serving as Global President of Urban Decay, and has previously been Global Marketing Senior Vice President of YSL Beauty and General Manager of Lancôme France.

Blumarine

Italian designer brand Blumarine, controlled by Italian investment company Eccellenze Italiane, has appointed David Koma as Creative Director.

David Koma’s first collection for Blumarine will be the Pre-Fall 2025 collection.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, David Koma founded his eponymous womenswear ready-to-wear brand in 2009, showcasing at London Fashion Week. He is known for his form-fitting silhouettes, sculptural structures, high-tech materials, and haute couture details, with his designs favored by celebrities like Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, and Scarlett Johansson.

From 2014 to 2017, he also served as the Creative Director of Mugler.

Pinko

Italian fashion brand Pinko has appointed British designer Patrick McDowell as Sustainable Creative Director.

This appointment continues the long-term collaboration between the two, with Patrick McDowell previously serving as Sustainable Design Director since 2020, where he guided sustainable design, developed collaboration projects, and launched a scholarship program with the brand.

In his new role, Patrick McDowell’s main responsibilities will revolve around the mainline and collaboration collections, aiming to achieve a new design vision and sustainable circular practices.

Patrick McDowell graduated from Central Saint Martins and debuted his namesake brand at London Fashion Week in 2018. He has been an advocate for sustainable fashion, using upcycled materials, including waste from brands like Burberry and Swarovski.

Kenneth Cole

American womenswear brand Kenneth Cole has appointed Emily Cole as Executive Vice President, Women’s Creative Director, and Product Strategy.

In this newly established role, Emily Cole will drive the development of the company’s women’s division, leading product development across all women’s categories. She will also collaborate with strategic partner teams to explore new categories and continue to oversee the company’s design direction and merchandising planning. She will report directly to company President Jed Berger.

Emily Cole first joined Kenneth Cole in 2022 and has held several senior management positions, including Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Product Officer.
