On April 6th, Carbonwave, a biotech startup focused on seaweed-based materials, announced the completion of a $5 million Series A funding round.
The round was led by Mirova, a subsidiary of Natixis Investment Managers that specializes in sustainable investments, with participation from Viridios Capital, Popular Impact Fund, and Katapult Ocean.
With this latest funding, Carbonwave has raised a total of $12 million, which will be used to support the construction of a large-scale cosmetic emulsifier production facility in Puerto Rico in order to meet the growing demand from customers. T …
