Recently, fast fashion e-commerce giant SHEIN announced that it has invested 10 million euros to launch a designer incubation program called “SHEIN X,” aimed at discovering, nurturing, and developing young designers across Europe. According to the company’s press release, “a dedicated team will focus on this initiative, with the goal of recruiting 250 European designers over the next five years through the SHEIN X Designer Incubator.”

The SHEIN X program is designed to allow designers to focus on their creative work while SHEIN takes care of retail, marketing, and production. In a statement, the company explained: “SHEIN X enables designers to reach a global audience, share sales profits, and retain ownership of their creations.”

To date, nearly 100 designers have already joined SHEIN X, with their products being sold in over 150 international markets.

Last Sunday, at the latest SHEIN-hosted French design talent showcase, several collections from young French designers were displayed at the Vendôme Pavilion in Paris, with each new look paired with pieces and accessories from SHEIN.

Luca Raveillon, Artistic Director of SHEIN France, remarked: “This show celebrated the incredible diversity and creativity of French fashion, providing a platform for new voices to shine. SHEIN’s mission is to make the beauty of fashion accessible to everyone. This means not only giving consumers the freedom to choose styles that reflect their personality but also offering emerging designers the chance to showcase their unique collections to a broader audience, contributing to a more inclusive and dynamic fashion industry.”

Leonard Lin, President of SHEIN Europe, Middle East, and Africa, stated: “Europe is a hub for young talent. We are committed to supporting the new generation as well as advancing our sustainability and circularity goals. … Just as the local designers at our showcase have incorporated circularity into their styles, we aim to continue promoting the use of circular options and preferred materials throughout our product range.”
