Estée Lauder Companies Inc.
U.S. beauty giant Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has appointed Stéphane de La Faverie as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2025. He will join the company’s board of directors.
Stéphane de La Faverie will succeed Fabrizio Freda, who is set to retire. The two will collaborate in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition. In his new role, de La Faverie will report directly to the board.
Additionally, William P. Lauder will step down as Executive Chairman but will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board.
With over 25 years of experience in the luxury beauty sector, de La Faverie joined Estée Lauder in 2011 and became a member of the executive leadership team in 2014. Most recently, he held the position of Group Executive President, overseeing multiple brands. Previously, he led the Estée Lauder brand, successfully driving growth through enhanced hero products, digital-first, data-driven marketing, new technologies, and high-growth channels.
The RealReal
U.S. luxury resale platform The RealReal Inc. has appointed Rati Sahi Levesque as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding John Koryl, effective immediately.
Rati Sahi Levesque joined The RealReal in 2011 as the company’s first employee and most recently served as Chief Operating Officer. Throughout her tenure, she has held roles in various departments, including sales, merchandising, and marketing.
In 2022, after founder Julie Wainwright departed, Levesque temporarily served as Co-CEO.
Rent the Runway
New York-based online fashion rental platform Rent the Runway has appointed Bradford Shellhammer as the newly created Chief Product Officer, effective October 29.
In his new role, Shellhammer will lead the company’s product strategy and innovation, focusing on sustainable fashion, subscriptions, and seamless customer experiences.
Shellhammer will oversee Rent the Runway’s product management, user experience, and design teams, prioritizing product stack innovations to drive growth and enhance customer experience. He will also collaborate closely with the technology, marketing, and data science teams to support initiatives leveraging AI personalization, social commerce, and sustainability innovation.
Shellhammer has held executive roles at several leading consumer and tech companies, previously serving as Chief Product Officer at Reverb (an Etsy Inc. subsidiary) and Vice President of Buyer Experience and eBay for Charity at eBay. He also worked at Backcountry.com and co-founded Fab.com, Bezar, and Queety.
Good American
U.S. inclusive fashion brand Good American has appointed Paul Griffin as President, succeeding Melissa Anderson.
With extensive experience in the fashion and luxury industries, Griffin was previously President and CEO of SMCP Group North America. Since joining SMCP in 2015, he has played a key role in expanding the group’s market share.
Founded by Emma Grede and Khloé Kardashian, Good American specializes in jeans tailored for all women, with products made from premium materials that support diverse body types. The brand is currently accelerating the expansion of its brick-and-mortar presence, having opened a flagship store in Los Angeles last year, followed by locations in Newport Beach, California, and Las Vegas. Good American plans to open two additional stores in the first quarter of next year.
