Uniqlo

Japanese fast fashion brand Uniqlo has announced that long-time collaborator and pop culture artist KAWS will serve as its first-ever Artist-in-Residence.

Beginning with the Fall 2025 collection, KAWS will collaborate with Uniqlo on developing LifeWear products and will also lead creative initiatives for the brand. His responsibilities will include working with the company and its museum partners, enhancing Uniqlo’s global “Art for All” campaign, identifying new collaborators, proposing and executing creative concepts, and advancing the UT Grand Prix T-shirt design competition. Uniqlo and KAWS have a history of successful collaborations, with their first joint UT collection debuting in Spring/Summer 2016.

Uniqlo has a long-standing tradition of working with artists, designers, and other creatives. The new Artist-in-Residence program aims to expand these collaborations by introducing new creative minds and concepts, complementing the brand’s global ambassador program.

For over a decade, Uniqlo has been committed to promoting art appreciation through its “Art for All” initiative, aiming to educate and increase public engagement with art. Its partners include the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Modern in London, the Louvre in Paris, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
