Gucci
Gucci, a subsidiary of French luxury conglomerate Kering, has appointed Stefano Cantino as its Deputy CEO, effective from May 2nd.
In this newly created position, Stefano Cantino will report to Jean-François Palus, the brand’s President and CEO. He will collaborate with Jean-François Palus and Francesca Bellettini, Kering’s Deputy CEO in charge of brand development, to formulate and implement brand strategies.
Born in Italy, Stefano Cantino is a graduate of the University of Turin with a degree in Political Science, and is proficient in strategy, operations, and communications. He has over 20 years of experience in the luxury industry, holding retail, communications, and marketing positions across several global brands. He joined Prada in the late 1990s as Marketing Director, later leading the brand’s communications and external relations departments. From 2014, he served as the Strategic Marketing Director for Miu Miu, Prada, Car Shoe, and Church’s.
In 2018, he joined Louis Vuitton as Senior Vice President of Communications and Brand Activities.
Kering Beauty
Kering Beauty, a division under the French luxury giant Kering, has appointed Thibault Tétrel as the Sales Director, overseeing commercial operations.
Thibault Tétrel previously worked for over twenty years at French beauty giant L’Oréal:
- In 2002, he joined L’Oréal International, serving as the General Manager of Distribution for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) markets.
- From 2008 to 2011, he was the Marketing Director for L’Oréal Paris in the Indian market.
- Later became the General Manager of the Mass Consumer Products Division for the brands in Lebanon and Jordan.
- Since 2014, he has served as the Travel Retail General Manager for the Americas market for Giorgio Armani beauty and designer fragrances.
Before joining L’Oréal, he worked for three years at Moet Hennessy (Hennessy) in the UK.
Established in early 2023, Kering Beauty is currently led by Raffaella Cornaggia and includes brands such as Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Pomellato, and Qeelin, as well as the luxury perfume brand Creed that is being integrated.
TOM FORD Beauty (under Estée Lauder Companies)
Estée Lauder Companies’ TOM FORD Beauty has appointed Dexter King as Senior Vice President and Global General Manager, effective April 1st.
In his new role, Dexter King will continue to report to Guillaume Jesel, the President and CEO of Luxury Business Development at Estée Lauder Companies. Dexter King will also join the Expanded Executive Leadership Team at Estée Lauder Companies.
Upon taking up his new position, Dexter King will lead the brand team, taking full responsibility for the strategic growth plans for categories, channels, and regional markets. He will strengthen and drive the brand’s luxury beauty positioning through world-class product innovation and the continued enhancement of the brand’s iconic aesthetic narrative.
Dexter King has been with Tom Ford Beauty for nine years, holding several key leadership positions. His most recent position was Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Strategy, and he previously served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of International and Global Strategy.
The brand states in a press release that through close collaboration with Guillaume Jesel and under Dexter King’s strategic and international leadership, the TOM FORD brand has elevated its main perfume products to a luxury level, accelerated channel deployment, and achieved extraordinary growth and market share gains in key markets.
Before joining the brand, Dexter King worked in strategy and marketing at McKinsey & Company, Diageo, and Moët Hennessy. He holds an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Virginia.
Valentino Beauty (under L’Oréal Group)
The French beauty giant L’Oréal Group has appointed Claudia Marcocci as President of Valentino Beauty, replacing Garance Delaye who will move to London to become the International Marketing President of the Aesop brand, effective from May 6th.
Claudia Marcocci has collaborated with Valentino’s new Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, for many years.
Claudia Marcocci joined the Italian conglomerate P&G in 2003, handling high-end brands including Valentino, Lacoste, and Hugo Boss, and later held several management positions within the group, such as Global Director of Digitalization and E-commerce for the luxury brands division. In 2015, she was promoted to Assistant Director of Global Design for Gucci Beauty.
When P&G sold its high-end business division to Coty, Claudia Marcocci joined Coty as a Global Vice President, later being appointed as Senior Vice President of Gucci Beauty, managing the brand’s makeup while collaborating with then-Creative Director of Gucci, Alessandro Michele, to launch the highly successful Gucci Bloom fragrance.
In 2019, Claudia Marcocci joined the LVMH Group as Chief Marketing Officer and Brand Director for Dior Beauty, responsible for the fragrance, makeup, and skincare lines.
L’Occitane
The French beauty group L’OCCITANE has appointed Green Yip as the General Manager of Travel Retail for the Asia-Pacific region, effective immediately.
In her new role, Green Yip’s responsibilities include collaborating with L’OCCITANE’s global and Asia-Pacific travel retail teams to launch the brand’s initiatives in the travel retail sector.
Green Yip has over 15 years of experience in the beauty industry, having held senior positions at Estée Lauder Companies and LVMH Group. During her tenure as Vice President of Travel Retail at Estée Lauder, she led brands like Origins, Aveda, and Lab Series to achieve growth.
