UK streetwear brand SuperDry (ticker: SDRY.L), which has been struggling, has sold its brand IP assets in most of the Asia-Pacific markets to Korean company Cowell Fashion Company (ticker: 033290.KQ) for $50 million.
The deal provides much-needed cash for SuperDry while giving Cowell the right to own and use the SuperDry brand in the Korean domestic market and other Asia-Pacific countries, including China. SuperDry will retain brand rights in markets such as Australia, Bangladesh, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.
