Birkenstock
German heritage footwear brand Birkenstock has announced that Alexandre Arnault has resigned as a director.
Alexandre Arnault is the second son of LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault. He currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of LVMH’s wines and spirits division Moët Hennessy and as a director of LVMH. He said his resignation was due to his increasingly demanding professional responsibilities. He cited the same reason when stepping down in July from the board of Italian luxury brand Moncler, in which LVMH holds a stake.
Birkenstock Board Chairman and L Catterton Co-Chief Executive Officer Michael Chu said that following Alexandre Arnault’s departure, Financière Agache, the Arnault family’s investment vehicle and a strategic investor in Birkenstock, would continue to maintain a close relationship with the brand.

Birkenstock has begun the search for a successor.
