lululemon has just announced two key leadership appointments for China and Asia Pacific:
- Managing Director Huang Shanyan has been promoted to President, China and Asia Pacific;
- Jeffrey Hang has joined lululemon, succeeding Huang as Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific.
In her new role, Huang will be responsible for driving the strategic development of China and Asia Pacific, further strengthening business synergies between China and other Asia Pacific markets, while ensuring the company remains closely attuned and responsive to the distinct needs of each market.
Huang Shanyan (pictured below) joined lululemon in January 2018. She previously served as Vice President and Managing Director of Retail and Wholesale, Asia at Tory Burch. Prior to that, she spent 12 years at Loewe, where she held a succession of roles including Retail Manager for Southeast Asia, General Manager for China and Managing Director for Asia Pacific.

lululemon said that Huang “brings a unique perspective and deep understanding of local guests, market dynamics and emerging trends, and has played a pivotal role in driving the growth of the China business, helping establish China as one of lululemon’s most important international markets.”
Jeffrey Hang brings more than 20 years of leadership experience with premium brands across China and Asia Pacific. Before joining lululemon, he served as Managing Director of BVLGARI for Southeast Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Louis Vuitton China.
In his new role, Hang will lead lululemon’s Asia Pacific team, focusing on accelerating growth, strengthening brand influence and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy. He will report to Sherry Huang, President, China and Asia Pacific.
lululemon Interim Co-Chief Executive Officer, President and Chief Commercial Officer André Maestrini said that “China and Asia Pacific are home to some of the world’s most dynamic consumer markets and represent an important growth region for lululemon. Their exceptional leadership and proven track records will help us deepen our local connections across China and Asia Pacific and continue to grow our global guest community.”
Separately, Bill Chandler, Chief Communications Officer of Canadian athletic apparel company lululemon Athletica, is set to leave the company, with his final day on September 4, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg.
Chandler joined lululemon in 2019 as Vice President of Global Communications and Public Relations and was appointed Chief Communications Officer in September 2024. He has spent a total of seven and a half years with lululemon.
Chandler graduated from the University of Southern California, where he studied public relations and film criticism. Early in his career, he served as press secretary to then-Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and US Senator Dianne Feinstein. He subsequently worked briefly in television and financial services. In 2004, he entered the fashion industry by joining Gap Inc. as Senior Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs, a role he held until 2015. In 2017, he founded communications and media consultancy Chandler Public Affairs.
Chandler (pictured below) is the third lululemon executive to depart ahead of incoming Chief Executive Officer Heidi O’Neill’s arrival. Chief AI and Technology Officer Ranju Das and Chief Strategy Officer Rachel Acheson had previously announced their departures.

Vuori
US performance apparel brand Vuori has announced the appointment of Carey Collins Krug as its new Chief Marketing Officer, effective October 5.
In her new role, Krug will lead the company’s global marketing team, advancing Vuori’s global marketing strategy and overseeing brand, creative, consumer engagement, digital, retail, wholesale and integrated marketing.
Before joining Vuori, Krug served as Chief Marketing Officer of US youth apparel brand Abercrombie & Fitch, where she played a key role in repositioning the brand, driving its digital-first transformation and rebuilding its cultural relevance with a new generation of consumers. Earlier in her career, she held senior marketing roles at US jewellery and watch brand David Yurman, US luxury fashion brand Ralph Lauren and US fashion brand Donna Karan.

Puma
German sportswear brand Puma has announced that Johan Adamsson, Vice President of Global Sports Marketing and Sports Licensing, will leave the company on August 31 for personal reasons.
Puma will announce a new head of Sports Marketing in the near future. Until then, Chief Executive Officer Arthur Hoeld will oversee the function on an interim basis.
Adamsson has spent more than 25 years at Puma. He joined the company in 2001 as Deputy Marketing Manager for Football and subsequently spent many years overseeing marketing for its team sports business. Before joining Puma, he spent 10 years at the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry, where his most senior roles included Vice President and member of the Executive Committee.

Vail Resorts
US ski resort operator Vail Resorts has announced the appointment of Bill Hornbuckle, Chief Executive Officer and President of MGM Resorts International, to its Board of Directors.
Hornbuckle brings more than 35 years of industry experience. At MGM Resorts, he has overall responsibility for the group’s strategy, operations, hospitality and gaming development projects. He has led MGM Resorts through multiple phases of transformation, helping evolve the company towards a more diversified, experience-led business model and driving growth across its dining, entertainment and premium experience offerings.
Based in Las Vegas, Hornbuckle has played a prominent role in expanding the city’s sports and entertainment landscape. As a Director and President of T-Mobile Arena, he helped bring Las Vegas its first professional sports team, the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights. More recently, as a member of the Las Vegas Stadium Authority Board, he was involved in bringing the National Football League’s Raiders to Las Vegas. He currently also serves as Chair of the U.S. Travel Association.

Brav
Norway-based sports and outdoor goods group Brav has announced the appointment of Silje Garberg Ree as Chief Executive Officer. She will take up the role by the end of this year at the latest. Until then, Cathrine Stange will continue to serve as Brav’s interim Chief Executive Officer.
Brav said that Ree’s core mandate is clear: to lead the Brav Group and its brands, including Swix, Toko, Lundhags and Helsport, into a new phase of profitable growth.
Ree has served as Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian outdoor brand Bergans of Norway since May 2024 and will step down by the end of this year. Her departure follows the completion of Bergans’ transformation programme. Since taking the helm, she has streamlined the product portfolio, sharpened the brand’s positioning and restructured its cost base, helping stabilise the long-established outdoor company. The Bergans Board of Directors has now begun the recruitment process for a new Chief Executive Officer.
Before joining Bergans of Norway, Ree served as Chief Product Officer at Norwegian fitness club operator SATS and Business Development Director for the Confectionery & Snacks division at Norwegian consumer goods group Orkla. Earlier in her career, she worked as a management consultant at Boston Consulting Group.
