Anta
On December 3, Chinese professional sports brand Anta announced the appointment of Wing Xiao as the Head of the International Business Division for its Professional Sports Group. In her new role, she will be based in Xiamen and take full charge of the Anta brand’s international business management, reporting directly to Xu Yang, CEO of Anta Professional Sports Group.
Wing Xiao brings extensive experience in international brand management, having previously served as President of the Brand Management Division at Baozun and as the Global CEO of Miss Sixty. She is a graduate of the University of Manchester in the UK and holds an EMBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the US. With over 20 years of deep expertise in the apparel industry, she excels in building complex business structures and leading teams to achieve outstanding results.
According to the company’s press release, Wing Xiao’s appointment marks an important step in Anta’s global expansion strategy. Xu Yang, CEO of Anta Professional Sports Group, commented, “Anta’s globalization is both a strategic execution and a commitment to long-termism.”
In her new role, Wing Xiao will lead her team to leverage Anta’s strengths in product development, supply chain management, and brand operations to actively expand into global markets and enhance the international influence of the Anta brand.
Joseph
British fashion brand Joseph has appointed Mario Arena as its Creative Director.
In his new role, Mario Arena will work at the brand’s newly established design department at its London headquarters. His first collection for the brand, Spring/Summer 2026, is scheduled to launch in stores in October 2025.
With over 30 years of experience in design and luxury collection development, Mario Arena most recently served as Product and Design Director at British designer label JW Anderson, overseeing ready-to-wear, accessories, and runway collections. He has also held senior roles as Director of Design and Innovation for ready-to-wear and accessories at Nanushka and as Head of Ready-to-Wear at Christopher Kane.
Additionally, Mario Arena founded his own brand, Enlist, and is the Creative Director and Founder of the strategic design and trend studio Arena International, through which he has collaborated with brands like Celine and LVMH.
Mario Arena was born in Australia and later moved to Paris, where he earned a Master’s degree in Design from the Paris American Academy. He has previously worked at prestigious fashion houses including YSL, Balmain, Moschino, and DKNY.
Abercrombie & Fitch
American fashion group Abercrombie & Fitch has appointed Robert Ball as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective November 20.
In his new role, Robert Ball will join the company’s executive leadership team and continue to report to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Scott Lipesky.
An experienced finance executive, Robert Ball has been with Abercrombie & Fitch for over 22 years, holding several key roles in finance and strategy. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance, Investor Relations, and Treasury. He has also been CFO of the Abercrombie & Fitch and Abercrombie Kids brands, and has led the Transformation Management Office, Financial Reporting, Financial Planning and Analysis, and Corporate Finance.
Robert Ball began his career at Merrill Lynch.
Work Group/Wolverine Worldwide
Work Group, a brand cluster under global footwear giant Wolverine Worldwide, has appointed industry veteran Mike Maloney as Chief Product Officer.
In his new role, Mike Maloney will lead product development, merchandising strategy, and market expansion initiatives for all brands under Work Group, including Wolverine, CAT Footwear, Bates, Harley-Davidson Footwear, Merrell Work, and Hytest. He will report directly to Work Group President Tom Kennedy.
With more than 19 years of experience in the footwear industry, Mike Maloney is a seasoned product expert skilled at integrating merchandising, product development and design, and marketing knowledge to develop comprehensive product strategies. He has previously worked with renowned companies such as Adidas, Under Armour, Columbia Sportswear, and Designer Brands.
