Inditex, the parent company of Zara and a leading Spanish fast fashion group, has announced that José Arnau Sierra, Non-Executive Deputy Chairman, will step down from the board.
His departure follows his upcoming retirement from Pontegadea, the investment firm founded by Inditex’s Amancio Ortega and his family, where he currently serves as Director and Deputy Chairman. The resignation will take effect on October 1.
Since June 2012, Arnau Sierra has served as the proprietary director representing Amancio Ortega. He will officially step down after Inditex’s next Annual General Meeting on July 15, marking over 13 years in the role. Going forward, he will remain a shareholder of Inditex, continue advising the Ortega family, and retain his position as Executive Vice President of the Amancio Ortega Foundation.
