Italian luxury footwear brand Sergio Rossi, part of the Lanvin Group, has appointed Paul Andrew as its Creative Director, effective July 23, 2024.

Paul Andrew is known for his bold yet pragmatic designs, striking a balance between craftsmanship, innovative materials, and technology. His passionate work ethic, dedication to brand building, and entrepreneurial spirit have earned him recognition and respect in the international industry.

Andrew has honed his aesthetic and technical expertise by working with renowned designers such as Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, Narciso Rodriguez, and the late Alexander McQueen. He launched his eponymous women’s shoe line in 2013, expanding to men’s footwear shortly after, and became the first footwear designer to win the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund in 2014, making him the youngest recipient of this award.

In 2016, Salvatore Ferragamo appointed Paul Andrew as Women’s Footwear Design Director, and a year later, he was promoted to Creative Director for Women’s Collections. Following the global success of his first collection, he was promoted in 2019 to Creative Director of all product categories at Salvatore Ferragamo, becoming the first individual to hold this position since Salvatore Ferragamo himself.

He sees fashion as a double-edged sword for culture, driving his interest in imagining and creating a future that is yet to be envisioned. After leaving Salvatore Ferragamo, he relaunched his eponymous brand, now sold through select global retailers and boutiques.

Helen Wright, CEO of Sergio Rossi, stated, “Paul Andrew is an outstanding and exciting design talent who will lead Sergio Rossi into a more creative future. He is globally beloved for his innovative shoe designs and superb craftsmanship. He has a deep respect for our brand’s tradition and heritage, a keen understanding of our diverse audience, and, most importantly, his vibrant creativity will inspire the Sergio Rossi woman for now and the future.”

As a globally renowned shoemaker, its origins and heritage exemplify the enduring excellence of Italian craftsmanship. I look forward to building a new vision for the brand based on Sergio Rossi’s unique spirit of innovation and craftsmanship.”
