Personnel Updates | The LVMH Group Appoints Three Senior HR Executives; Hermès Promotes President of Japan Operations; Jacquemus COO Joins from Lemaire

French luxury conglomerate LVMH has announced three senior human resources appointments:

  • Paula Fallowfield has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer for LVMH Americas, effective April 1. She will work closely with Michael Burke, Chairman and CEO of LVMH Americas.

  • Claire de Coincy has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer of the Wines & Spirits division, Moët Hennessy, effective March 23.

  • Anna Briem has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer of the LVMH Fashion Group, effective this week. She will report to Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group.

Paula Fallowfield joined LVMH in 2022 as Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Moët Hennessy. Prior to that, she served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Brazilian beauty group Natura & Co and Australian skincare brand Aesop, and previously held the role of Vice President of Global Talent and HR Business Partnering for EMEA at British luxury brand Burberry. She began her career at Harrods in the UK. Fallowfield holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa.

Claire de Coincy has served as Chief Human Resources Officer for LVMH Holdings and other business segments since 2023. LVMH’s “Other Activities” division includes hospitality and food & beverage brands such as Belmond, Cheval Blanc, and Cova, yacht manufacturer Royal Van Lent, as well as media publications like Les Echos, Le Parisien, Connaissance des Arts, and Paris Match.

A graduate of ESCP Business School, de Coincy began her career in the marketing department at L’Oréal, where she worked for 15 years before transitioning to human resources. Before joining LVMH, she served as Global HR Director at Chloé, a French luxury brand under Richemont Group.

Anna Briem has been Global Human Resources Director at Celine, the French luxury brand under LVMH, since 2017. She graduated from Åhlströmska School in Stockholm and began her HR career at The Walt Disney Company. She later held positions at BIC, PPR, L’Oréal, and Chloé.

Hermès

The Japanese subsidiary of French luxury brand Hermès has announced that current Executive Vice President Shigeru Takagaki will assume the role of Representative Director and President effective February 1. Current President and CEO Masao Ariga will become Chairman of the Board on the same date.

Shigeru Takagaki joined Hermès Japan in September 2025. He previously held senior roles at several luxury brands, including Vice President of Commercial and Vice President of Retail at Cartier Japan, President and CEO of Delvaux Japan, and Retail Director at Berluti Japan. Earlier in his career, he spent 17 years at LVMH Group and Louis Vuitton, serving as General Manager of Louis Vuitton Japan and leading departments such as retail, logistics, and supply chain.

Masao Ariga has served as President and Representative Director of Hermès Japan since 2008. During his 18-year tenure, he has led the brand to steady and sustained growth in the Japanese market.

Jacquemus

French designer brand Jacquemus has appointed Clarisse Godbillon as Chief Operating Officer.

Godbillon was previously COO at French designer brand Lemaire, where she also held the role of Chief Financial Officer. She began her career as an M&A specialist at consulting firm Messier Maris & Associés, advising large corporations and investment funds. In 2015, she joined JC Decaux, overseeing external growth initiatives. In 2018, she began advising designer brands seeking expansion and joined Lemaire in 2020.

Saks Global

Saks Global, the parent company of American luxury department store Saks Fifth Avenue, has announced that CEO Marc Metrick will step down to pursue new opportunities. Executive Chairman Richard Baker will take over as CEO.

Marc Metrick began his career at Saks Fifth Avenue, joining the company in 1995. He has served as Chief Strategy Officer, President, and CEO, and was instrumental in the creation of Saks Global.

Richard Baker, a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in hotel administration, acquired the struggling department store Lord & Taylor from Macy’s in 2006. In 2008, through his private equity firm NRDC Equity Partners, he acquired Hudson’s Bay Company, one of Canada’s oldest retailers. He has served as Executive Chairman of Hudson’s Bay and led its acquisition of Saks Inc. in 2013.

Following the 2024 spin-off of Hudson’s Bay Company from Saks Global, Baker now serves as Chairman of both companies.
