Over the past month (March 1, 2024 – April 1, 2024), the [Luxe.CO Chinese Designer Brand Monthly Update] recorded 24 latest updates from 22 Chinese designer brands, revealing the following trends:

More Chinese designer brands are expanding into overseas markets. For instance, Her Senses officially launched its overseas official website; by FANG officially opened the “by FANG Paris Showroom Studio” at Place Vendôme in Paris; JUNLI, YOUWEI, and SELAH participated in the pop-up event “unravelling boundaries” held at 10 Corso Como’s Milan flagship store.

Chinese designer brands continue to engage in active cross-border collaborations. For example, Susan Fang launched a collaborative collection with & Other Stories, a fashion brand under H&M; Guo Pei collaborated with skincare brand Aupres to launch a limited edition gift box and canvas bag; Angel Chen launched a collaborative series with the American denim brand Lee.

Offline Channel Expansion

1) – 3) Accessory brand HEFANG Jewelry opened new stores in Guangzhou Taikoo Hui, Shanghai Global Harbor, and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport T2 Terminal respectively.

4) Clothing brand COMME MOI opened a new store in Tianjin MixC.

5) Clothing brand SMFK (Sam & Frank) opened a new store in Chengdu Jinronghui Shopping Center.

 

Collaborations

6) Clothing brand Susan Fang teamed up with Swedish fast fashion giant H&M’s fashion brand & Other Stories to launch the “Dreams Unleashed” collaborative series, featuring 11 items including laser-cut dresses and skirts, Madeira embroidered tops and mini skirts, layered ruffle shorts, and floral print shirt dresses. Nine of the garments were inspired by floral and marble paintings created by Fang’s mother.

7) Clothing brand Angel Chen collaborated with the American denim brand Lee to launch a collaborative series that blends Eastern and Western aesthetics through appliqué embroidery techniques.

8) Clothing brand Jacques Wei collaborated with Chinese apparel company Peacebird to launch a new collaborative series.

9) Couture designer Guo Pei collaborated with skincare brand Aupres to launch a limited edition gift box and canvas bag.

10) Clothing brand nice rice collaborated with boutique LABELHOOD to launch the “Youth. China” Vol.02 collaborative series.

11) Clothing brand SIQIYOUNG collaborated with cashmere brand DONGLI to launch a collaborative series made of cashmere from rare Alashan goats from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, China.

12) Accessory brand BLACKHEAD collaborated with eyewear brand THE OWNER to launch the collaborative sunglasses series “LEVIATHAN.”

Overseas Channel Expansion

13) Lifestyle brand focusing on fashion lingerie, Her Senses (Cloris Li & Sarah Han), officially launched its overseas official website: www.hersenses.com, fully opening its overseas retail channels.

14) Clothing brand by FANG officially opened the “by FANG Paris Showroom Studio” at Place Vendôme in Paris.

15) Clothing brands JUNLI, YOUWEI (Momo Z), and SELAH (Yang Yu) participated in the pop-up event “unravelling boundaries” at the renowned boutique 10 Corso Como in Milan, presenting their brand clothing series.

Online Channel Expansion

16) Chinese designer brand HAIZHEN WANG officially opened a flagship store on Tmall, marking the brand’s first venture into an e-commerce platform.

Pop-up Stores

17) Accessory brand BLACKHEAD opened a pop-up store “B Shelter” on Shanghai Anfu Road, also pre-releasing the “B LABEL Black Label” series.

18) Clothing brand JUNLI opened a pop-up store in Shanghai Zhang Garden.

19) Clothing brand WMWM (Song Xiaolin) collaborated with boutique nound nound to open a spring/summer 2024 limited-time experience space at its Nanjing Deji Plaza store.

Offline Events

20) Clothing brand SHUTING QIU collaborated with Café Gray Deluxe at The Middle House Shanghai to launch the “East Meets West” themed afternoon tea, priced at 529 yuan for two, available until April 30.

21) Clothing brand SAMUEL GUÌ YANG (Yang Guidong) held a spring special exhibition “That Day, On The Beach” at Shanghai XC273 retail space, which will last until May 31.

22) Clothing brand Feng Chen Wang participated in the trend exhibition ComplexCon in Hong Kong, creating a limited-time space centered around “tea culture.” At the exhibition, Feng Chen Wang officially launched the “Feng Chen Wang Teapot Series,” including tea sets, teapot T-shirts, teapot-soled shoes, teapot bags, etc. Additionally, the brand’s new collaborative sneakers, T-shirts, and pattern pins with Converse debuted.

23) Clothing brand ANNAKIKI (Yang Zi) held a limited-time exhibition at its flagship store on Shanghai Fumin Road, showcasing some of the collections presented at Milan Fashion Week and the prototyping process behind the show pieces, which will continue until April 30.

24) Clothing brand Randomevent (Hong Yang) participated in the trend exhibition ComplexCon in Hong Kong, designing the “Random Tea House” limited space with the theme of a “random tea room,” integrating modern street elements into daily life.
