Personnel Updates | Edrington Appoints Maggie Chan as Managing Director for China; Anine Bing’s First Global President; Executive Changes at Hästens, Nordstrom, and More

The international premium spirits company, Edrington Group, has appointed Maggie Chan as the Managing Director for China, effective June 3.

Maggie Chan will continue to serve as the Operating Partner of Advent International, one of the world’s largest private equity firms, a role she was appointed to in March this year.

Holding a Bachelor of Science degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Maggie Chan has extensive experience in the Chinese and international consumer goods and retail industry, with expertise in business transformation and customer growth strategies. She previously served as the General Manager of Sephora Greater China under the LVMH Group and held various positions at Unilever, including General Manager for China at Blueair, an air purifier and filter brand.

Founded in 1861, Edrington Group is headquartered in Glasgow, Scotland, and is renowned for producing and selling high-quality whiskies, rum, and vodka. Its most famous whisky brand is The Macallan, alongside The Famous Grouse and Highland Park.

Anine Bing

Los Angeles-based womenswear brand ANINE BING has appointed Julie Bourgeois as its first Global President, reporting directly to Co-Founder and CEO Nico Bing, effective immediately.

In her new role, Julie Bourgeois will be based in Paris and will work closely with the executive team to drive the brand’s next phase of growth, particularly its global expansion. She will also oversee the growth of the brand’s main revenue channels, including wholesale, retail, and e-commerce, and will collaborate with the team to create new marketing opportunities and omnichannel strategies.

Julie Bourgeois brings extensive experience in the global fashion and luxury retail sector, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Global Retail, and Global Experience at Four Seasons Hotels. She has also held positions at French luxury conglomerate LVMH, Richemont, Nespresso, Khaite, and Jacadi.

Nordstrom

American high-end department store chain Nordstrom Inc. has promoted Alexis DePree to Chief Operating Officer.

In her new role, Alexis DePree will support supply chain operations, transportation, inventory operations, corporate operations, and store operations.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Alexis DePree joined Nordstrom in January 2020 as Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. She previously held executive positions at e-commerce giant Amazon and Target.

Hästens

Swedish luxury bedding company Hästens has appointed David Lee Hatchard as Chief Design Officer, effective June 1.

In his new role, David Lee Hatchard will provide visionary leadership in design management and innovation across retail, visual merchandising, branding, marketing, customer experience, and real estate. He will drive transformative spa experiences, enhance customer experiences, and develop forward-thinking projects while ensuring consistent high standards in design and branding.

David Lee Hatchard brings over twenty years of international real estate and holistic customer experience expertise, having previously worked at Apple, overseeing real estate development, design, and construction for Apple’s global flagship stores in the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa markets.
