Personnel Updates | Fourth-Generation Member of Columbia Sportswear’s Founding Family Named Co-President; Leadership Changes at Puma, Ciele, Rhone, and Scarpa

U.S. outdoor apparel group Columbia Sportswear has appointed Peter Bragdon and Joseph Boyle as Co-Presidents, effective November 12.

Peter Bragdon will oversee all international operations for the group, as well as its portfolio brands, including Mountain Hardwear, PrAna, and Sorel. He will also continue his current responsibilities related to administrative management and international distributor sales.

Since 1999, Bragdon has been a trusted advisor and key strategic leader at Columbia, previously serving as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and General Counsel. During his tenure, he has led or contributed to numerous critical growth initiatives. Most recently, he oversaw the company’s distributor business across 74 countries and regions worldwide, helping drive financial growth and elevate the global presence of the Columbia brand.

Joseph Boyle will lead the group’s North America operations, which were newly consolidated under his purview for Summer 2025, while continuing to head the Columbia brand. Boyle is the architect of the brand’s “Acceleration Plan” strategy. Notably, he is the son of Chairman and CEO Tim Boyle, representing the fourth generation of Columbia’s founding family.

The company stated that both executives report to Timothy Boyle and will work together to “expand the company’s business opportunities.” The appointments also reflect an ongoing succession planning initiative.

The group also announced the following executive appointments:

  • Richelle Luther as Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer, and General Counsel

  • Jana Humble as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Puma

German sportswear brand Puma has announced the departure of Richard Teyssier, Vice President of Global Brand and Marketing.

Teyssier first joined Puma in 2010 and has spent 15 years with the company. During his tenure, he led efforts to expand Puma’s footprint in the French market, strengthening its position through multi-brand retailers and establishing a new headquarters in Strasbourg. He was promoted to General Manager of Europe in 2021 and assumed international responsibilities as Vice President in 2023. Before joining Puma, he managed the French subsidiary of Mars.

Ciele Athletics

High-performance running brand Ciele Athletics, headquartered in Montreal, Canada, has appointed Corey Stecker as Global Head of Sales.

In his new role, Stecker will manage key accounts and lead retail and international market growth.

With extensive industry experience, Stecker previously held various roles at VF Corporation, most recently serving as Managing Director for Altra, Smartwool, and Icebreaker in Canada. He also served as Global Head of Sales at Smartwool for seven years. Over his 18-year tenure at VF, he held positions such as International General Manager for EMEA and Canada, Director of Sales and Marketing for Canada, and Director of Key Account Sales and Marketing for The North Face.

Rhone

U.S. men’s active lifestyle brand Rhone has appointed Matthew Wallace as Chief Operating Officer.

In this role, Wallace will oversee the brand’s finance, human resources, supply chain, operations, and technology functions, aiming to “drive efficiency, innovation, and sustainable growth” as Rhone scales its business.

With nearly 30 years of leadership experience in operations and business development, Wallace previously served as CEO and co-founder of fashion tech startup DXM Inc.. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Walmart, PVH Corp., and Cerberus Capital.

Scarpa

Italian outdoor group Scarpa has announced several new executive appointments:

  • Enrico Bucciol, as Head of Core Innovation, also responsible for product development

  • Carlo Ferrero as Marketing Director

  • Jarrod Hale as Strategic Marketing Director

Enrico Bucciol brings over 30 years of experience in the sports and outdoor footwear industry, having held key leadership roles at Dainese, Oberalp, and Diadora.

Carlo Ferrero has a strong background in sports and outdoor marketing, previously serving in core roles at Tecnica Group, Fizik, and Brooks England.

Jarrod Hale is a seasoned professional in product management and marketing, with prior experience at Nike and Adidas.
