Macy’s
U.S. department store operator Macy’s has appointed Robert Chavez as an independent director, effective April 1.
Robert Chavez brings over 45 years of experience in the retail industry, particularly in the luxury sector. For the past 24 years, he has served as President and CEO of Hermès Americas, overseeing operations in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. His responsibilities included driving the brand’s rapidly growing e-commerce business, expanding product offerings, and opening new stores.
Previously, Robert Chavez served for eight years as CEO of the German luxury brand Etienne Aigner Group, where he gained expertise in manufacturing, wholesale, and global retail. His retail career began at luxury department store Bloomingdale’s, where he worked on development projects before joining Macy’s as a department merchandise planning manager.
At the same time, Macy’s announced that Sara Levinson would retire and step down from the Compensation and Management Development Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.
G/Fore
G/Fore, the golf brand under Richemont‘s U.S.-based sportswear company Peter Millar, has appointed Suzy Biszantz as its CEO, effective January 1.
In her new role, Suzy Biszantz will report to Scott Mahoney, CEO of Peter Millar. Her responsibilities include overseeing G/Fore’s operations and developing strategies to optimize efficiency and drive business growth. She will focus on international expansion and increasing wholesale channel availability.
Suzy Biszantz will oversee all departments and work closely with Mossimo Giannulli, the brand’s founder and Chief Creative Officer. G/Fore was founded by designer Giannulli in 2011 and acquired by Peter Millar, part of Richemont, in 2018.
With over 25 years of experience in the golf industry, Suzy Biszantz most recently served as Group President at Centric Brands, managing brands such as Hervé Léger, Joe’s Jeans, Hudson Jeans, Buffalo Jeans, Zac Posen, and Izod. She also played a key role in founding the brand Favorite Daughter.
Prior to joining Centric Brands, she served as CEO of La Perla North America and held leadership roles at Greg Norman Collection, where she facilitated its sale to adidas. Earlier in her career, she worked at another prominent golf apparel brand, Ashworth.
Dr. Martens
British footwear brand Dr. Martens Limited has announced the departure of its Global Creative Director, Darren McKoy.
Darren McKoy joined Dr. Martens in January 2015 and served the brand for a decade. Initially appointed as Global Footwear Category Manager, he was promoted to Global Product and Commercial Strategy Director in 2017, and became Global Creative Director in November 2021.
Dr. Martens’ annual revenue grew from £136 million to over £1 billion during his tenure. Announcing his departure on LinkedIn, Darren McKoy stated, “After much thought, I made the decision early last year to leave the company to pursue new opportunities and creative challenges. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I feel now is the right time to close this incredible chapter and start a new one.”
Before joining Dr. Martens, Darren McKoy held roles at VF Corp, adidas, Mamas & Papas, and Asics, focusing on product management and category leadership.
