Clarks

According to overseas media reports and updates on executives’ personal LinkedIn profiles, a few weeks after former CEO Jonathan Ram announced his departure, Bob Neville, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, and Victoria Jones, Chief Product Officer, of the British century-old footwear company Clarks, also announced their departures from the company.

Bob Neville’s departure comes less than a year after he first joined Clarks, having previously worked in Hong Kong for 30 years, leading teams at Under Armour, New Balance, and Adidas. Meanwhile, Victoria Jones joined Clarks in 2018, initially as the Retail Marketing Director for the UK and Europe, before becoming the Managing Director for the UK and Ireland in 2021.

Previously, Clarks was on the brink of bankruptcy. In 2020, Clarks was acquired by Hong Kong-based private equity firm LionRock Capital, backed by Li Ning. Since then, Clarks has made many efforts to expand into new markets and plans to cultivate a younger consumer group. In 2023, Clarks laid off 103 employees globally.

Currently, Clarks Chairman Colin Li and other directors have formed an interim executive committee to lead the company’s operations while awaiting the appointment of a new CEO.

Shein

According to Sky News, as fast fashion giant Shein advances its plans to list on the London Stock Exchange, it has approached former UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid, potentially inviting him to join the Shein board or serve as an advisor to the company.

It is reported that Sajid Javid is one of several senior London officials who have recently held discussions with Shein Executive Chairman Donald Tang. As part of IPO preparations, Donald Tang has also met with executives from the London Stock Exchange. Former BBC Trust Chairman, former UK Minister of State for Trade and Investment, and member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange International Advisory Committee Baroness Rona Fairhead is also among the candidates being considered by headhunters.

Previously, due to failing to gain approval from US regulators for a New York listing, Shein has turned its attention to the London Stock Exchange. Industry insiders indicate that the initial public offering (IPO) could potentially raise Shein’s valuation to around £50 billion or more, making it the second-largest IPO in London’s history, second only to the IPO of commodities trading and mining group Glencore International in 2011. Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley will provide advisory services for Shein’s IPO transaction.

Rag & Bone

New York-based American fashion brand Rag & Bone has appointed Andrew Rosen as Executive Chairman.

Andrew Rosen has held a stake in Rag & Bone for many years and served as the chairman of the company’s board. After the co-founder Marcus Wainwright left the brand in July last year, he worked with the management team to run the business. He also appointed Robert Geller as the head of the brand’s menswear design.

As Executive Chairman, Andrew Rosen will work with Guess co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Paul Marciano, CEO Carlos Alberini, and WHP Executive Chairman Yehuda Shmidman to provide strategic guidance to the brand’s management team and drive business growth.

Andrew Rosen is a highly respected leader in the American fashion industry with deep roots in the fashion world—his father and grandfather were also in the fashion industry. His career began at Calvin Klein, and in 1997, he co-founded the fashion brand Theory and served as CEO for over 20 years, overseeing the company’s development. He has been an active investor in the fashion industry, holding stakes in brands such as Alice + Olivia, Veronica Beard, and TWP, which was founded three years ago.

Regarding her resignation, she stated, “My daughters are growing up quickly, and I will spend some time taking care of them.”

Terry Boyle has extensive experience in consumer retail, having served as CEO or President of several companies, including Zulily, Nordstromrack.com, Trunk Club, and HauteLook, successfully leading the development of these consumer retail businesses.
