Located in the vibrant Luohu Central Business District, this spacious store radiates natural beauty and showcases all sixteen Hermès product categories.

As the latest addition to Hermès’ 34 boutiques in China, it highlights Shenzhen’s unique landscapes and cultural traditions.

The store’s façade, clad in jade-colored enamel and ceramic pillars reminiscent of lush bamboo groves, reflects the surrounding light to create an airy and dynamic atmosphere. Large floor-to-ceiling windows along the street embellish the green exterior wall, inviting passersby inside, while the bamboo theme is further accentuated in the store’s entrance design.

Within the expansive, single-level layout, natural light filters through the curved space, high ceilings, and soft neutral tones. Visitors are greeted by Hermès’ signature Ex-Libris motif in terrazzo, in joyful amber, green, and mother-of-pearl hues, at the two entrances. The warm atmosphere set by abstract-patterned carpets introduces the women’s silk and fashion accessories area, with an elegant jade-colored ceramic wall in the beauty and fragrance section to the right. Moving through the home and equestrian areas, visitors arrive at the women’s, men’s, and leather goods sections. A contemporary aesthetic defined by plant-inspired carpets adorns the jewelry and watch area, showcasing intricate craftsmanship and thoughtful lighting in each section to provide varied atmospheres. Elements like bamboo weaving and ceramic art pay homage to local craftsmanship and heritage.

The store, meticulously designed by Paris-based RDAI, draws inspiration from Shenzhen’s spirit of innovation. Denis Montel, who has long collaborated with Hermès, emphasizes that each project is tailored to harmonize with the local architecture and culture. At the opening, he shared, “It was a pleasure to design this unique Hermès store at Shenzhen MixC. It’s a fantastic location with a beautiful façade along the main street and an integrated main entrance,” with the organic shapes, refined surfaces, natural colors, and exquisite details creating a harmonious ambiance.

Artifacts from the Émile Hermès Collection enhance the decorative style. Artwork by French artist Jean-Luc Favero depicting tranquil forests hangs alongside whimsical watercolors by contemporary French illustrator Alain Biet. Among Hermès’ contemporary photography collection, Finnish photographer Pentti Sammallahti’s cinematic black-and-white landscapes, particularly his equine portrait *Coumenoole, Ireland, 1978*, are particularly captivating (see below).
