Esteé Lauder Companies has appointed Shane Wolf as the Global Brand President of Aveda and Bumble and bumble, effective July 1, 2024.
In his new role, Wolf will oversee both brands directly, reporting to Jane Hertzmark Hudis, the company’s Executive Group President, and joining the executive leadership team. They will collaborate closely on corporate hair care strategies to drive breakthroughs and increase market share.
With over 25 years of experience in brand management, marketing, education, and artistic creation in the hair care sector, Wolf’s expertise is expected to accelerate the group’s global development in this field.
As the new leader of Aveda, he will spearhead the brand’s growth strategy, focusing on innovation, conceptual marketing, and digital media. His efforts will include enhancing local connections, deepening consumer understanding of Aveda’s vegan and botanical-based products, and strengthening brand engagement. He will also continue to advance Aveda’s market leadership in sustainability and its distinctive asset and avant-garde promotional style.
At the same time, Corey Reese, Global General Manager and Senior Vice President of Bumble and bumble, will report to Wolf, and together they will further establish the brand’s authority in styling and drive innovation inspired by salons.
Prior to joining Esteé Lauder, Wolf had a lengthy tenure at L’Oréal Group’s hair care division, most recently as the Global President of the Professional Products Division in the USA, managing brands such as Pureology, Redken, Kerastase, and Shu Uemura, and collaborating with L’Oréal to launch the natural hair care brand Seed Phytonutrients.
Before L’Oréal, he worked with Aveda and Wella, and notably, he spent nearly five years in Aveda’s global marketing department early in his career, working closely with the brand’s founder Horst Rechelbacher.
Henry Rose
Gender-neutral luxury fragrance brand Henry Rose announced the appointment of Laure de Metz as the new CEO, succeeding Debi Theis, who will continue to serve as President.
Laure de Metz is known for her over 20 years of experience at globally renowned beauty brands, developing unique brand identities, establishing deep consumer connections, and driving profit growth through multichannel marketing, digital integration, and distribution expansion.
Laure de Metz began her career in Paris and has held positions at YSL Parfums and Estee Lauder Companies. For the past decade, she has worked at the LVMH group, most recently serving as the General Manager for the Americas at Benefit Cosmetics.
Founded in 2019 by Hollywood actress Michelle Pfeiffer, Henry Rose is a direct-to-consumer (DTC) fragrance brand committed to 100% ingredient transparency, pioneering safety and transparency in its field. The brand is certified by two leading nonprofit organizations, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and Cradle to Cradle (C2C), and is the only luxury fragrance brand to have earned both EWG Verified® and Cradle to Cradle Certified™ certifications.
Hairstory
American hair care brand Hairstory has appointed Dina Rosenbloom as CEO, succeeding Harley Butler.
Since joining the brand as Chief Marketing Officer last year, Dina Rosenbloom has been dedicated to driving the next phase of growth and development for the brand, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Under her leadership, Hairstory plans to enrich its product line, focusing on cleansing, conditioning, and treatment products, and is also launching a professional rewards program.
With over 20 years of marketing experience, Dina Rosenbloom has held management positions in luxury fragrance and beauty companies, including Senior Vice President and Vice President of Marketing at Creed, and Global Vice President of Marketing at Unilever’s tech beauty brand, iluminage. She has also worked at Estée Lauder Companies, serving as a marketing and project consultant at Bumble and Bumble, and was responsible for marketing and brand revitalization projects at L’Oréal’s hair care brand, Carol’s Daughter, as well as serving as the Global Marketing Executive Director at Jurlique.
Founded in 2015 by a group of industry veterans, Hairstory challenges traditional views on hair care. Believing that conventional shampoos create a vicious cycle of over-cleansing, the brand introduced its core product, New Wash, a two-in-one shampoo and conditioner that cleans hair without harsh detergents and is safer for the environment.
OUAI
Procter & Gamble’s premium hair care brand OUAI has appointed Hannah Beals as the new CEO, taking over from Colin Walsh.
Hannah Beals joined OUAI as Marketing Director in 2016 and was later promoted to Chief Brand Officer in 2019.
Colin Walsh will continue to serve as CEO of Procter & Gamble’s Specialty Beauty division.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare
Shiseido Americas Corporation has appointed the General Manager of Tory Burch Beauty, Emmie Salaj, to also serve as the Chief Operating Officer of the American performance skincare brand Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare.
Emmie Salaj will lead the global business operations of Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, continuing to build on the brand’s existing growth and innovation strategies.
During her tenure as General Manager, Emmie Salaj led marketing, product development, and creative campaigns at Tory Burch Beauty.
Emmie Salaj joined Shiseido Americas Corporation in 2015 and has held several positions, such as Global Executive Vice President for BareMinerals and BUXOM, leading global business development, and serving as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Education for several of Shiseido’s global brands in the USA.
Before joining Shiseido, Emmie Salaj held management positions in marketing and sales at LVMH Group and L’Oréal USA.
