Bosideng
Chinese down apparel group Bosideng has appointed renowned British designer Kim Jones as the Creative Director of its newly launched premium urban line, AREAL.

The two parties will collaborate to unveil the AREAL line. “The launch of the brand-new AREAL premium urban line is not only a brilliant extension of Bosideng’s presence in the businesswear sector, but also elevates high-end business fashion to a new dimension with its outstanding technological strength and design philosophy,” Bosideng stated in its press release.
Bosideng explained that “Area” symbolizes an undefined domain, while “Real” represents genuine insight and a spirit of extreme exploration. Drawing inspiration from the brand’s heritage and achievements, Kim Jones integrates top-tier windproof, waterproof, and thermal performance with artistic and cultural elements, transforming them into forward-looking designs. The line captures the interplay of China’s unique natural landscapes and urban rhythms, reinterpreted through a sculptor’s perspective to present a new philosophy of winter wear. The entire collection features modular, transformable layering designs that transcend the limitations of time and space, enabling each piece to function as an intelligent module capable of adapting to dynamic environments—building an artistic business wardrobe for multifaceted settings and identities.
Kim Jones most recently served as Artistic Director of Menswear at French luxury brand Dior under the LVMH Group, a role he left in January this year.
Kim Jones studied graphic design and photography at Camberwell College of Arts and later earned a master’s degree in menswear from Central Saint Martins. After graduation, he launched his own label and worked with brands including Umbro, Topman, Mulberry, and Hugo Boss. In 2008, he became Creative Director of British luxury brand Dunhill, owned by Richemont. In 2011, he joined Louis Vuitton as Men’s Artistic Director and moved to Dior in 2018, holding the position until January 2024. From 2022 to 2024, he also served as Artistic Director of Womenswear at Fendi. In October 2020, he was awarded the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
